Dr Anthony Costandius matriculated from Paarl Boys High in the Western Cape and graduated from the University of Stellenbosch with a B.A. and B.A. (Hons), HDE and MA (Counselling Psychology). He then attained a Ph.D. in Applied Child Psychology from the University of the Free State.

In 1987 he started his career as a Teacher-Counsellor and, after three years, was promoted to Head of Department (Counselling) at the same school. In 1992 Anthony was appointed as Assistant Superintendent of Education at the Cape Town Education Support Centre.

In 1996 Anthony founded the Promed Child and Family Unit, Durbanville. He has since been practicing there as a Counselling Psychologist.

He deals mainly with individual adult and child issues - typically Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Mood Disorder and Loss. Anthony also assists children with learning and concentration difficulties, offering support and guidance to both parents and the children. He also offers couples therapy.

Anthony is a FAMAC trained mediator and does a limited amount of forensic work - specifically assisting couples who, in the process of separation and divorce, require the development of a parenting plan. He also assists in developing strategies for reuniting children with estranged parents.

In 2015 Anthony partnered with the TORO Tennis Academy. He has assisted a number of tennis players in improving the mental side of their game.
